After her audiovisual study in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Anaïs started working as a filmmaker in Rotterdam. Since then she is focused on capturing art, music, and culture through short documentaries and recordings of concerts/dance performances, including projects for Le Guess Who? and Motel Mozaïque.
Next to filmmaking, she’s also interested in the way music influences our bodies and how it can bring people together. She performs as a DJ in club settings but also does radio shows and DJs for a co-created movement experience, The Pulse.
In her filmmaking, she’s always looking for unique stories. She focuses on the details and emotions that we sometimes overlook in our busy daily lives. As a filmmaker, she strives to bring sensitivity and vulnerability into her work, as she sees these emotions reflected in herself and wants to mirror them in her creations.
